Maximilian Heindl

CEO Progroup AG

Maximilian Heindl has been Chief Executive Officer of Progroup AG since 2023. With a clear focus on organisation, digitisation and value-based management of the business, he is the leading person driving Progroup's development.

 

As CEO, he followed his father and Progroup's founder Jürgen Heindl as the second generation to manage the family-run company with just the same level of passion and vision. He began his career at Progroup in the summer of 2016 as head of the Propapier division. In 2019, he was appointed as a deputy member of the Executive Board and Chief Development Officer. He was then appointed deputy CEO in 2021.

 

Before he joined Progroup, he gained valuable experience of working in the industry at Voith Paper GmbH & Co. KG in Heidenheim, with his last role as Director of Production P&S EMEA. He studied industrial engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

 

With his extensive experience and commitment to innovation and growth, Maximilian Heindl is a driving force behind the success and continued development of Progroup AG.

Vinzenz Heindl

CSO Progroup AG

Vinzenz Heindl has been Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of Progroup AG since 2025. With his clear focus on the needs of the customer, strategic sales development and sustainable positioning, he is defining the company’s presence in the market.

 

As a member of the family of entrepreneurs, he brings with him a deep understanding of Progroup’s values and culture. His career has been defined by a broad range of experiences: From production and sales to managing Professionals Academy SPO GmbH, where he established a network of leading family-run businesses and created momentum for sustainable development in the family-to-family business segment.

 

His academic career comprises degrees in social sciences, psychology and clinical psychology. This gives him an interdisciplinary foundation that underlines his real strength in establishing communication and relationship levels. From 2020 to 2022, he also worked as a clinical psychologist.

 

With his combination of strategic vision, detailed knowledge of the industry and an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal relationships, Vinzenz Heindl will shape Progroup’s sales strategy through partnerships with an eye for the future. Always focusing on people’s needs.

Beate Flamm

CCO Progroup AG

“Employees are absolutely key to the success of our company. A responsible corporate culture and transparent communication also make a positive contribution to society and the environment.”

 

Since April 2024, Beate Flamm has been a strong addition to Progroup's Executive Board as Chief Culture and Communication Officer (CCO). In this key position, she is responsible for the areas of human resources, communication & marketing, corporate social responsibility and sustainability reporting.

 

Beate Flamm adds valuable experience from serving on the Executive Board at an international IT company. Before this, she was part of the management team at a prestigious design and branding agency. She first encountered Progroup back in 2017 and has been heavily involved in developing the company's current vision, mission and corporate design.

 

Beate Flamm studied English and political science in Tübingen and Bochum and also completed a typesetter apprenticeship.

 

She is passionate and dedicated to continuing to make Progroup's corporate culture stronger and champion the company's shared goals.

Dr. Thorben Finken

CFO Progroup AG

Dr. Thorben Finken has been Chief Financial Officer of Progroup AG since 15 October 2025. In addition, he is a director at all the company’s subsidiaries in the Board and Paper core business areas in Germany and abroad.

Born in 1971, he holds a doctorate in business administration and has more than 25 years of experience working in leadership roles in the areas of finance, strategic corporate development and transformation. He began his professional career at McKinsey & Comp., where he gained experience of management consulting. He then spent over 15 years working in various executive positions at The Linde Group, including as CFO for UK & Africa.


His career has also included working at Olympus Europe, where he held the role of COO Europe, and the position of Group CFO at the Prym Group before his appointment to the Progroup Executive Board. In these roles, he played a key part in shaping the strategic focus and financial stability of each of these companies.


With his international experience and in-depth knowledge of the financial markets, Dr. Finken will provide valuable impetus in supporting the further development of Progroup AG. He represents a modern understanding of finance that combines strategic thinking with a deep sense of economic interrelationships and their impact over the long term.

Dr. Marc Sesterhenn

COO Progroup AG

As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Marc Sesterhenn has been a member of Progroup’s Executive Board since October 2023. In this role, he is responsible for the operational divisions of Board, Paper and Power and Integration Management.

 

Before he joined Progroup, Dr. Sesterhenn worked as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Rittal, the enclosure and system specialist. Other key roles he has held in his career are the position of Executive Vice President Operations and member of the management team at Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG and the role of production director at MAN Truck & Bus Österreich AG from 2012 to 2016.

 

Dr. Sesterhenn studied mechanical engineering and industrial engineering at RWTH Aachen and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed a doctorate in the area of production systems.

 

Dr. Marc Sesterhenn’s many years of leadership experience, solid expertise and his commitment to operational excellence enable him to really drive forward the successful development and future security of Progroup AG.
