SAFEGUARD THE FUTURE, ACT SUSTAINABLY

Sustainability at Progroup

Always looking to the future

Sustainability has been actively championed at Progroup ever since it was founded in 1991. As a manufacturer of products that are recycled, we are part of the circular economy, and at our sites we embrace the principle of zero waste to preserve precious resources. For our customers we are a reliable, strong partner; for our employees we are a reliable employer that offers real prospects. This is because we are not just interested in short-term commercial success, but are instead focused on the sustained development of the company with a focus on growth – we call this future-proofing the business. Our online magazine provides an insight into our projects.

Sustainability report for the 2022 financial year

We want to be judged by our actions. This is why by now publishing the sustainability report each year, we present a comprehensive review of our social, ecological and economic activities.

How we champion responsibility

At our 14 sites in Central Europe, as an attractive employer we not only create modern, long-term jobs, but also take social responsibility. We get involved in public life and in projects that benefit society as a whole – particularly in education and training of children and young people. To boost the economic strength in the regions, we prefer to work with skilled businesses from the local region.

Preserve the environment, conserve resources

As we live in a period of climate change and energy crisis, it is all the more important to take good care of our resources. This is also the idea behind our containerboard and corrugated board sheets. The specially developed NextGen products are not just very light and yet still strong, but are also produced in an extremely eco-friendly way.

Investments in eco-friendly technologies

To manufacture our products as efficiently as possible in a way that conserves resources, we use innovative high-tech machines at all our sites. In Sandersdorf-Brehna, for example, with PM3 we have constructed one of the world’s most modern paper factories. An integrated circulating water treatment plant reduces the amount of fresh water that is used by 80 per cent. The plant purifies the process water so that it can be reused and generates biogas at the same time
