As part of the Two Twentyfive strategic concept, a new mega-corrugated sheetboard plant to replace the previous production plant is being constructed at the site in Ellesmere Port. Just a few kilometres away from the present site, the most efficient and powerful corrugated sheetboard plant anywhere in the industry is set to be up and running in the first quarter of 2019. An investment of around €85 million is being made to construct a high-tech plant which will set the benchmark in meeting the goal of delivering production that is more than competitive with efficient process flows. After the initial start-up and optimisation phase, the plant will produce 235,000 tonnes of corrugated board with a working width of 3.35 m each year, and thus blend seamlessly into the Progroup mill system.
